Owner // Head Trainer
I founded Follow Me K9 Training in 2017, and since then it has developed a great reputation in the Omaha area’s animal-owner community.
Passionate. Patient. Persistent. Pet-lover. These are just a few of the characteristics that describe my style. I know each animal is different, and I’ll work with yours to give them guidance that is tailored to their needs.
I have been training dogs since I was a little girl. I have always had an instinct for it. My first job out of college was with a major pet retail store as a trainer. But I soon found "Pure Positive" training was lacking something. After adopting my first dog, Jasper, he had some behaviors that could not be fixed with treats. After searching, I discovered other ways to train dogs! These methods saved Jasper's life and launched my career as an independent dog trainer.
I own three dogs, Jasper, a 7 year old Mini Aussie, Aria, a 4 year old mostly deaf Australian Shepherd Blue Heeler mix, and Liberty, an almost 2 year old Pit Bull. These three are a vital part of Follow Me K9. They help me train and rehabilitate dogs and they absolutely love their job!
In 2019, Johanna joined the IACP
(International Association for Canine Professionals.)
Assistant Trainer // Office Manager
I have always had a love and connection with animals, especially dogs.
As I grew up, I was drawn to customer service and care-giving job fields, but wasn't able to quite find the right fit. I have always naturally had a desire to help others. By chance, I came into contact with Follow Me K9 shortly after adopting my puppy, Tuco. I applied for the internship program in the Fall of 2018. In January 2019, I was offered a paid position and was able to come on board full time.
Now I am Johanna's social media manager and office assistant. And I help with board and train dogs in my home. I am always learning and growing!
I appreciate the training techniques Follow Me K9 utilizes because they are intuitive and gets results. The evidence is in the work we do daily, between the happy dogs and happy people, and I am proud to be part of the team.
